Program Withdrawal and Refunds

If you wish to withdraw your child from the ARC program:

  1. Request a Withdrawal Form from your on-site ARC Program Coordinator
  2. Submit the completed form to the on-site ARC Program Coordinator or submit it in writing via email to arc@toronto.ca
  3. All withdrawals must be submitted two weeks before the withdrawal date.

Credits and refunds will be prorated based on the date withdrawal is requested. A $13 administration fee will be deducted from any credit or refund amount per person, per program for all withdrawals. The effective date of the withdrawal is the date the withdrawal notice is received by the City, regardless of the date the participant stopped attending the class.

Any request for a refund must be submitted in writing and dated. Call 416-396-7378, option 1 for assistance.

Healthy Snack

ARC provides a daily nutritious snack for all program participants. Each day ARC participants get to pick two healthy snacks and learn about nutrition and making healthy food choices. If your child has specific dietary needs, please inform our ARC staff so we can ensure that a snack can be provided for everyone.

There will be no snack during the first week of the program. Please feel free to provide your child with a peanut and nut-free snack that week.

Inclement Weather

If there is inclement or severe weather, call our General Inquiry line at 416-338-2512, 311 or visit Recreation Centre Closures and Service Alerts to ensure that the ARC program is operating.

Supervising Your Children

Staff-to-participant ratios are always maintained to ensure the safe supervision of your child.

Age Ratio
Six to 12 years (Child) 1:10, on an exception basis max 1:15*
13 to 24 years (Youth) 1:15

*After school staff can have a maximum ratio of 1:15, with Supervisor approval, in specific circumstances (i.e. staff emergency or illness).

Transportation

Where possible at certain locations, ARC staff provide a group walking escort to children who are within walking distance from their local school to the after-school location.

We welcome and include children and youth with disabilities to participate in the After-School Recreation Care program at a level of participation suitable to their ability and facility access. We require participants to be able to participate independently or provide their own caregiver if needed.

Register at the desired location and contact staff at 416-338-1351 or email arc@toronto.ca.
