Seniors Health and Wellness Fair

  • Wednesday, June 19, 2024, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Attendance is free. We encourage visitors to donate an item to the food bank as an entry fee.

Some summer recreation programs are adapted to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. To ensure a safe, enjoyable and rewarding experience, classes are smaller, additional assistance is provided and sometimes adaptive equipment is used. To access Adapted and Inclusive Services you will need a free Adapted and Inclusive Services (AIS) membership.

Learn a new craft or improve your creative skills in one of our Arts programs. Our qualified staff will teach you the technical skills to take your talent to the next level.

Programs include:

  • Visual Arts: Art Club, drawing, painting, photography
  • Crafts: crafty creations, crochet, knitting, paper tole, pottery, sewing, woodworking
  • Dance: basics, ballet, ballroom, Latin, belly dance, Bollywood, Caribbean, contemporary, creative movement, Hawaiian, hip hop, jazz, Latin, line dance, salsa, tap
  • Music: drumming, guitar, keyboard, piano,
  • Performing Arts: musical theatre

Registration for summer CampTO is open and spaces are available. There are over 30 types of camp programs in more than 140 locations across the city. Camps start in early July 2024.

Adapted CampTO offers a safe, enjoyable and rewarding camp experience for individuals with disabilities, ages six to 29.

Learn skills and classic games in our general interest programs. From cooking classes to playing chess, there’s something for everyone to try out.

Children may achieve their skating goals in our friendly and safe indoor classes. Some adult classes are also available.

Learn a new sport or improve your game with our wide range of sports programs. Join us for recreational play or instructional lessons.

Programs include:

We offer swimming classes at many levels for children, youth, adults and older adults. Participants may improve their swimming skills, get out of their comfort zone and increase their knowledge of water safety. Our instructors ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all.

Programs include:

  • Aquatic Leadership: : Pool Attendant, National Lifeguard, Swim Instructor
  • Aquatic Fitness
  • Learn to Swim: tiny tots swim, guardian swim levels 1 to 3, preschool swim levels 1 to 4, child ultra swim levels 1 to 9, youth ultra swim levels 1 to 3, adult swim levels 1 to 3, and private swim lessons
  • Pre-Lifeguard Programs: : Rookie Patrol, Ranger Patrol, Star Patrol, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross
  • Stroke Improvement
  • Splash Swim Team
  • Swim Fit, Aquatic Fitness and Swim Clinics

Some programs require a caregiver in the water to participate.

The City uses Cisco Webex Meetings for Virtual Recreation programs. Once registered, participants will be sent instructions by email on how to access the program online a few days before the class start date.

You will need:

  • a computer, smartphone or tablet with
    • internet access
    • a camera (optional)
  • access to the email account used for program registration
  • to install Webex on your device

Programs are popular and many have waiting lists. If you can no longer attend the program you are registered for, contact the community centre where the program is offered or call 416-396-7378, so the spot can be offered to someone else. If you do not attend the first two classes and have not notified us, you will be contacted and may be withdrawn from the program. This will allow others on the waitlist to participate. So…if you can’t go, let us know!
