The King Street Transit Priority Corridor between Bathurst Street and Jarvis Street aims to improve transit reliability, speed and capacity by giving priority to streetcars over private vehicles.
On November 12, 2017, the King Street Transit Pilot was launched. Over the course of the following year, the pilot demonstrated, relatively quickly and cost-effectively, its ability to move people more efficiently on transit without compromising the broader transportation road network. On April 16, 2019, City Council made King Street a permanent Transit Priority Corridor.
