1.RESPONSE TO INFORMATION REQUESTED ABOUT PARKING
ENFORCEMENT ISSUES.

Responding to a number of issues affecting the Parking Enforcement Unit's 1998 budget as
requested by the Budget Committee on March 11, 1998 and recommending that the report
(July 20, 1998) from Chief of Police David J. Boothby be received.
COMMUNICATIONS/REPORTS.
2.FUNDING SOURCES TO OFFSET THE FINANCIAL IMPACT OF THE 1998
TORONTO POLICE ASSOCIATION CONTRACT SETTLEMENT.

Recommending that the Budget Committee approve the utilization of $3.5 million of the
OMERS contribution holiday savings towards offsetting the remainder of the 1998 impact of
the Toronto Police Association contract settlement.
3.SAP - IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INTEGRATED FINANCIAL
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - TORONTO POLICE SERVICES BOARD

Advising that the Toronto Police Service will commit to implementing the SAP financial
management system unless SAP is unable to meet some of the Service's requirements; that
funds identified in the Budget are only for the City's portion of the implementation of the
system, and that once an implementation plan is in place a report on the full cost impact will
be forwarded to the Budget Committee.
4.FEASIBILITY OF PLACING PARKING TAG REVENUES INTO A RESERVE.

Advising that the Emergency and Protective Services Committee, at its meeting on September
8, 1998, received the report (August 28, 1998) from the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
regarding the feasibility of placing parking tag revenues into a reserve; and having advised the
Budget Committee that the Emergency and Protective Services Committee neither confirms
nor refuses the recommendation contained in the conclusions section of said report which
reads: "It is therefore not recommended that the parking tag revenues be removed from the
corporate revenue stream."

7.TORONTO FIRE FIGHTERS' ASSOCIATION, LOCAL 113 - TRANSFER OF
OWNERSHIP OF BOX 12 VEHICLE

Advising that the Toronto Fire Fighters' Association, IAFF Local 113 is offering the City of
Toronto the Box 12 vehicle, a vehicle which provides rehabilitation capabilities to fire fighters
at an emergency scene and is also utilized at many community events, and is willing to
transfer the ownership of the Box 12 vehicle to the City of Toronto at a cost of $65,000.00.

Forwarding the recommendations of the Etobicoke Community Council from its meeting on
September 16, 1998, recommending that a request for the reconstruction of Islington Avenue
between Bloor Street West and The Queensway be included in the 1999 Capital Budget.
9.PEOPLE MOVERS - EXHIBITION PLACE

Responding to a request that Exhibition Place meet with the City of Toronto Zoo and the City
of Toronto Parks and Recreation Department to exchange information on the "People
Movers" owned by Exhibition Place and advising that the trains from Exhibition Place may
not be suitable for use in park areas because of the low floor structure; that prior to any future
purchase of train equipment, there will be consultation with the departments and agencies of
the City to ensure such train equipment would be adaptable to other City sites and
recommending that this report be received for information.
