AS A LEAD FOR THE YEAR 2000 PROJECT.

Recommending that the Striking Committee give consideration to Members' preferences
outlined in Schedule 1 and recommend to City Council the appointment of a Member of
Council as a Lead for the Year 2000 Project.

Advising that City Council on July 29, 30 and 31, 1998, in adopting, as amended, Clause
No. 1 contained in Joint Report No. 1 of The Corporate Services Committee and The Budget
Committee, headed "City of Toronto Year 2000 Project", directed, inter alia, that a Member
of Council, recommended by the Striking Committee, be appointed as a Lead for the Year
2000 Project.
2.REPRESENTATION ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE METROPOLITAN TORONTO HOUSING AUTHORITY.

Advising that City Council on July 29, 30 and 31, 1998, in adopting, as amended, Clause
No. 4 contained in Report No. 7 of The Community and Neighbourhood Services
Committee, headed "Sale of Scattered Units Owned by Ontario Housing Corporation in the
City of Toronto", directed, inter alia, that the Provincial Minister of Municipal Affairs and
Housing be advised that the City of Toronto will be nominating its two representatives to
the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Toronto Housing Authority; and further that the
matter of these nominations be referred to the Striking Committee for consideration.
(Note:The Metropolitan Toronto Housing Authority Board currently has eight
members. The two municipal representatives on the Board are Councillor Gordon
Chong, City of Toronto, and Councillor Joyce Frustaglio, City of Vaughan, who were
both appointed by provincial Order in Council and whose terms of office expire on
April 30, 2000.)
3.RESIGNATION OF COUNCILLOR BROWN FROM
THE GREATER TORONTO AIRPORTS AUTHORITY (GTAA),
CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE.

Submitting her resignation from the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA),
Consultative Committee, for reasons outlined in this communication.
(Note:City Council at its meeting held on March 4, 5 and 6, 1998, by its adoption of
Clause No. 1 of Report No. 2 of The Striking Committee, headed "Appointment of
Members of Council to Committees and Special Purpose Bodies", appointed the
following Members of Council to the GTAA Consultative Committee:
Brown, E.
Holyday, D.
Sinclair, B.
for a term of office expiring on May 31, 1999, and until their successors are appointed,
subject to the membership of the GTAA Consultative Committee being increased from
two to three elected representatives from the City of Toronto.
The GTAA has advised that it has not yet increased the membership of its
Consultative Committee from two to three elected representatives from the City of
Toronto. Accordingly, the City does not need to replace Councillor Brown to adhere to
the existing composition of this Committee.)

Forwarding a copy of Clause No. 5 contained in Report No. 10 of The Special Committee
to Review the Final Report of the Toronto Transition Team, headed "Procedural By-law
Amendment to Permit Request for Recorded Votes at Meetings of Standing Committees and
Committees of Council", which was adopted, without amendment, by the Council of the
City of Toronto at its meeting held on July 29, 30 and 31, 1998, wherein it is recommended
that the Council Procedural By-law be amended to provide that recorded votes be permitted
at Standing Committee and Task Force meetings.
