2. REQUEST FOR VARIANCE FROM EAST YORK
SIGN BY-LAW REQUIREMENTS FOR MOORES RETAIL STORE

Reporting on an application for a variance from East York By-law No. 64-87, For Prohibiting and Regulating the Erection
of Signs and Other Advertising Devices; advising that the applicant proposes to install a facial sign not in compliance with
the East York Sign By-law; that the proposed sign is for the Moores retail store at Shoppers World Plaza, 3003 Danforth
Avenue at Victoria Park Avenue; and recommending that Council deny the variance from the Sign By-law requirements
to permit the installation of more than one facial sign on the same wall elevation, for Moores store, at
3003 Danforth Avenue.
3. FENCE HEIGHT EXEMPTION REQUEST
478 MAIN STREET.

Providing information on a request for an exemption from Fence By-law No. 81-89 for the height of a fence at 478 Main
Street as submitted by Mr. and Mrs. John Kripas; advising that the applicants have submitted the required, non-refundable
fee of $200.00 as part of their exemption request; and recommending that:
(1) the fence height exemption request of Mr. and Mrs. John Kripas, owners of 478 Main Street be granted; and
(2) the appropriate City officials be authorized and directed to prepare the required amending by-law to By-law No. 81-89
to give effect thereto.
4. PROPOSED IMPLEMENTATION OF DISABLED
PARKING SPACE - 470 MAIN STREET.

Reporting on the proposed implementation of a disabled parking space adjacent to 470 Main Street; advising that funds to
undertake the installation of the disabled parking space in the estimated amount of $500.00 are contained in the
Transportation Services Division 1999 Current Budget; and recommending that:
(1) Schedule 'E' of By-law No. 34-93, entitled "To provide for disabled person parking permit holders", as amended, be
further amended to implement a disabled parking space on the east side of Main Street during the months of January,
March, May, July, September and November from a point 131.8 metres south of Lumsden Avenue to a point 137.6 metres
south of Lumsden Avenue, and on the west side during the months of February, April, June, August, October, and
December, of Main Street from a point 126.0 metres south of Lumsden Avenue to a point 131.8 metres south of Lumsden
Avenue;
(2) this disabled parking space be removed when Mrs. Jacquelene LaPoint no longer resides at 470 Main Street; and
(3) the appropriate City officials be authorized and directed to take the necessary action to give effect thereto.
5. REQUEST FOR OVERNIGHT PERMIT PARKING
ON MONARCH PARK AVENUE BETWEEN

7. PEDESTRIAN FATALITIES - AUGUST 1999.

Advising that at its meeting on October 13, 1999, the Toronto Pedestrian Committee directed that the attached
communication dated August 31, 1999, from Ms. Rhona Swarbrick, Co -Chair, respecting ten pedestrian fatalities that
occurred in August, 1999, be forwarded to all Community Councils for information; further advising that eight of the ten
incidents occurred on suburban roads.

advising that East York Council originally approved a site plan for this property in May, 1997; that the owner did not enter

application on September 27, 1999, for 106 parking spaces including 11 front yard parking spaces with a two-way drive
aisle; and recommending that in the event that City Council decides to approve this revised Site Plan Development
Application, that City Council approve the drawings entitled:
(a) Site Plan No. A.1 dated revised September 27, 1999, and drawn by Fan and Dutra Architects, Inc.; and

(2) the City Solicitor be authorized to complete this transaction according to the terms and conditions of the Offer to
Purchase; and
