(a) 1998 City of Toronto Capital Budget
The East York Community Council reports having:
(1) recommended to the Budget Committee that it reconsider the budgeted amount
allocated to the Don Valley Brickworks within the 1998 Metro Capital Budget
item contained in the financial document (March 16, 1998) respecting the "1998
Capital Program: Parks and Recreation", to ensure continued development of
this heritage site;
(2) requested the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer to report to the
Budget Committee, prior to the finalization of the 1998 Budget, on the use and
long term strategy for the reserves and reserve funds;
(3) requested the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer to report to the
Budget Committee, at an appropriate time, on a process which would permit
greater public consultation at the Community Council level concerning future
operating and capital budgets for the City of Toronto;
(4) requested the City Clerk to advise Mr. Lake that his request to include within
the Capital Budget a separated sewer system for the Governor's Bridge area
was received and that the item was not included within the City of Toronto 1998
Capital Budget Program; and
(5) received the following financial documents and communications:
(March 16, 1998) respecting the 1998 Capital Program: Parks and Recreation;
(March 19, 1998) respecting the 1998 Capital Program: Facilities Management;
and
(March 1998) respecting the 1998 Capital Program: Transportation.
(March 21, 1998) from Ms. Judith Ramsay, East York;
(March 23, 1998) from Ms. Margaret Simpson, East York; and
(March 23, 1998) from Mr. Donald Lake, East York.
The following persons appeared before the East York Community Council in connection
with the foregoing:
- Ms. Margaret Simpson, East York;
- Ms. Andrea Harrison, East York; and
- Mr. Oudit Raghubir, Scarborough.
