Request for Quotation No. 8001-10-5095 Award for Refit of MV Thomas Rennie, MV Sam McBride and MV William Inglis |
Origin |
(October 21, 2010) Report from the Director, Purchasing and Materials Management |
Recommendations |
The Director, Purchasing and Materials Management recommends that:
1. Bid Committee rescind its September 22, 2010 decision to award RFQ 8001-10-5095
2. Bid Committee grant authority to award RFQ 8001-10-5095, for the supply of all equipment, material, products, labour and supervision required for the retrofit of the Toronto Ferries MV Thomas Rennie, MV Sam McBride and MV William Inglis to Heddle Marine Service Inc., in accordance with the revised Contract Details set out in the Appendix 1 of this report: |
Summary |
The purpose of this report is to request the Bid Committee to rescind the award of Request for Quotation (RFQ) 8001-10-5095 submitted on September 16, 2010 and approved by the Bid Committee at its meeting of September 22, 2010 in the amount of $2,072,779.59 net of all applicable taxes and charges. This new report is seeking to increase the contract by $441,332.49 bringing the new recommended award to $2,514,112.08 net of all applicable taxes and charges to the same vendor, Heddle Marine Service Inc., being the lowest bidder meeting specifications for the supply of all equipment, material, products, labour and supervision required for the retrofit of the Toronto Ferries MV Thomas Rennie, MV Sam McBride and MV William Inglis on behalf of the Parks, Forestry and Recreation Division.
This increase is to allow for the award of all equipment materials products, labour and supervision required for the retrofit of MV William Inglis, having been omitted from the original composite report because the required funding was not yet in place. This report is now being submitted to add MV William Inglis to the award. |
