The City of Toronto has partnered with DocuPet to make pet licensing and renewals faster and easier for pet owners.

All dogs and cats owned in Toronto must be licensed and wear a tag. The licence must be renewed every year.

Why License Your Pet

If your pet is lost or involved in an emergency, a licence provides information needed to contact you.
Lost pets are returned home faster and spends less time in shelters.
It is a legal requirement and you could be fined without a pet licence.

To register online you will need:
