Toronto is home to many beautiful cherry tree groves in parks across the city. Every spring the trees delight visitors with their stunning blossoms. Groves are located in Birkdale Ravine, Centennial Park (Etobicoke), High Park, and Toronto Island Park, with other cherries in parks throughout Toronto.
Many of Toronto’s Sakura cherries were generously donated to the City of Toronto, particularly by several Japanese and Japanese-Canadian organizations and individuals to honour the relationship between Canada and Japan. Toronto’s cherry trees are carefully managed by staff in the Parks and Urban Forestry sections.
