Accessibility Features in Park Washrooms

Some park washrooms have accessibility features including automatic door openers, accessible stalls or change tables.

Winter Closures

Some washrooms are not winterized and are closed to prevent frost damage to water pipes. Staff start to open these washrooms in early spring.  Staff check for winter damage, inspect pipes and fixtures, make repairs and flush the pipes. The process takes approximately three weeks and does not begin until the risk of frost has passed. Some washroom buildings are more than fifty years old and need extra work.

Drinking water sources are closed during the winter. Staff start opening them in the early spring, and the process of opening all drinking water sources takes approximately six weeks. This is due to the large number and geographic spread of drinking water sources.
